Bereaved Families from Both Sides of the Conflict Unite to Build Peace
Despite the pain of devastating losses, bereaved families from both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are uniting to build peace where politics has failed, Positive News reported. Through organizations like Parents Circle — Families Forum, a grassroots peace movement, those who have lost loved ones are finding common ground through shared grief.
"Once you recognise your joint pain, that you share the same colour of tears, it becomes a completely different story," said Robi Damelin of Parents Circle. The organization brings together Israeli and Palestinian families who have lost immediate family members in the conflict.

Through dialogue programs, joint memorial events, and community outreach, these families demonstrate that reconciliation is possible even in the most painful circumstances. Their work offers a powerful counternarrative to the cycle of violence and revenge, showing that empathy and understanding can bridge even the deepest divides.
