A global coalition of over 100 cities has reached a remarkable milestone: 100 million trees planted as part of urban cooling initiatives. The trees are reducing temperatures by up to 5°C in the hottest neighborhoods.
"Trees are our most cost-effective tool against urban heat," said a city planner. "They also clean our air, reduce flooding, and make our cities more beautiful."
