England Opens World's Longest Coastal Footpath

England has officially opened the King Charles III England Coast Path, a continuous 2,700-mile footpath that circles the entire English coastline — making it the longest coastal walking trail in the world. The path provides public access to some of the most stunning coastal landscapes in Britain, from the dramatic cliffs of Cornwall to the sweeping beaches of Norfolk and the rugged shores of Northumberland.

The creation of the Coast Path has been decades in the making. The Ramblers, Britain's leading walking charity, campaigned for years to establish a continuous right of way around the English coast. Their efforts, supported by other access campaigners and environmental organizations, eventually led to legislation that mandated the creation of the path. The project then required years of detailed route planning, landowner negotiations, and physical path construction.
