"The average drill is used for just 13 minutes in its lifetime," said a tool library founder. "Sharing makes so much more sense environmentally and economically."

There are now over 1,000 tool libraries worldwide, saving members thousands of dollars annually while keeping perfectly good tools from sitting unused in garages.
