Marine biologists have documented the most spectacular coral spawning event on the Great Barrier Reef in over 30 years. Trillions of coral eggs and sperm were released in a synchronized underwater snowstorm.
"This is nature at its most magnificent," said a reef researcher. "Such a robust spawning event indicates the reef has resilience and the potential to recover."
